Cosplay is a fun hobby and has a massive following of fans across the internet, but many people miss out on the fun of it. “Cosplay” is a word which combines “costume” and “play” although many people miss out on the actual playing part, instead simply posing for photographs and videos. Admittedly, it would be hard to make a fully functional costume which could be roughed up like that, but that doesn’t stop cosplayer and Youtuber  D Piddy from focusing on the most fun part of cosplay, being the character.

D Piddy has built a successful Youtube channel thanks to his fun at conventions, cosplaying as different characters. His go to character is Deadpool, but he has also become well known for his portrayal of Kakashi (from the Naruto series), Luigi in his racing cart, and most recently, everyone’s favorite Sunbro, Solaire of Astora. In his newest video “Sunbro Invades  Saboten Con 2017”, D Piddy dons the Armor of the Sun and challenges various other characters to epic battles, only to roll circles around them. Y9uzCtI - Imgur

The stirring battle music that plays during a challenge is well done, and cuts away to convention goers laughing as Solaire rolls around. This works well to invoke a sense of amusement and highlight how fun and silly cosplay can be. I couldn’t help laughing while watching the video, despite my annoyance that he wasn’t carrying the Sunlight Shield. You keep on having fun D Piddy, the internet loves you!
