The Pokemon competitive scene is in full swing, especially with the addition of previous generation Pokemon thanks to the PokeBank. While the inclusion of these new Pokemon in the Alola region has uncovered some interesting secrets, one thing is still missing, the use of Mega Stones for Pokemon not native to Alola. Alakazam, Blaziken, Gallade and many others have no access to their powerful Mega forms without their Mega Stones, so naturally trainers are very eager to find out how to get their hands on the powerful items.

According to the Japanese Pokemon Global Link website, the first of these Mega Stones will become available in February, for players who participate in online Global Link competitions. While it is not specified exactly when these competitions take place, all we know for now is that they will be held at the end of February and will allow players to earn “Beedrillite” and “Mawilite”, which are the Mega Stones for the bug Pokemon Beedrill and the Steel/Fairy type Mawille respectively. While there are no official release dates of other Mega Stones, it seems likely that the stones will be released in similar fashion throughout 2017.
