New Pokemon in Alola means new secrets to be uncovered.

The PokeBank is a feature that has been long awaited by trainers who are exploring the islands of the Alola region, and now that it is here, it’s opened the door for lots of new Pokemon to enter the game. The PokeBank allows trainers to bring Pokemon from previous games into Pokemon Sun and Moon legitimately. But with this influx of new Pokemon, a new easter egg has been discovered as well.

Trainers on Ula’Ula Island may have discovered the beginnings of this event while exploring the Haina Desert. Among the dunes deep in the desert, you will find a man standing in the shade of a bush (the same bush where you find a Zygarde piece). This man will talk about not remembering who he is, but will mention a Pokemon who’s name starts with “Sol” if playing Sun, or “Luna” if playing Moon. Naturally gamers assumed that he was referencing the legendary Pokemon Solgaleo and Lunala. When presented with these Pokemon however, he will insist that these aren’t the Pokemon he is looking for. Now with the release of the PokeBank, trainers have discovered that the Pokemon he is looking for is Solrock (Sun) and Lunatone (Moon). When showing him the respective Pokemon he seeks, he suddenly remembers who he is, and explains to your Pokemon that “those star pulses you bestowed upon me 30 years ago have all been made safe. I entrusted them to a group of wonderful men.” After this conversation, the mysterious man thanks the trainer, and gives them a Sun or Moon stone, depending on which game is being played, before declaring he will go home now “To Space!”. The man is then seen beaming off into the sky, never to be seen again.

Solrock and Lunatone seem to fit into the games perfectly, so it makes sense that these two Pokemon would be used to unlock an easter egg, but what does it mean? Does this point to a possible sequel to Sun and Moon? Perhaps it hints to the rumored Pokemon Star game. Only time will tell what new adventures and secrets await us in the Alola Region. But with our Pokemon at our side, it’s nothing we can’t handle.
