The internet has been buzzing with theories and rumors about Overwatch’s character Doomfist, especially the choice of who would voice the character. This fire was fueled by a post on Twitter from Terry Crews talking about his visit to the Overwatch HQ. This Tweet sent fans into a frenzy, many of whom believed that Crews was there to discuss becoming the voice of the new character. Among the various discussions between fans on social media, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson also tweeted his support for Terry Crews, in response to a Tweet where Crews asked fans if they wanted him to voice Doomfist.
Crews and Johnson worked together on the 2008 spy comedy movie Get Smart where the two muscle building enthusiasts became friends. And this kind of character reference does far more than just lending one man’s support, with the tweet by Johnson having been “hearted” over 7,000 and retweeted by over 3,000 people. Add that to the amount of fans of Crews and those in the Overwatch community who have voiced their own support, and Blizzard would be foolish not to offer Crews the part, assuming they haven’t already.
