New Map Means New Tricks for Gamers to Exploit.

With the end of the Overwatch Holiday Event, gamers are given the first update of the new year which comes with some new years resolution voice lines for heroes as well as a brand new map for gamers to fight on, Oasis. Oasis has been on the PC PTR (Public Test Region) for a few months now, and gamers pointed out several exploits that Blizzard has fixed, but a couple have slid under the radar when it comes to the second stage of the new control point map.

A new environmental hazard has been introduced into the map, with a road running along one side of the map which has futuristic cars flying by at incredibly high speeds, demolishing any object or hero in the way. The creative gamer has taken advantage of this however with two heroes, Zarya and Reaper. Zarya is able to use her barrier ability in game to take damage and boost the ability of her energy weapon, and players were quick to discover that they could let a car hit the edge of the Russian heroine’s barrier, destroying it in the process but giving a quick boost to the players weapon. While not game breaking, this particular bug has gamers online debating on whether or not this is cheating or if it is a legimate strategy. Other plays have used Reaper’s Wraith Form ability to become invincible for 3 seconds, which is just long enough to let the cars push the player to the control point, allowing for Reaper to flank the enemy team. This however is fairly useless due to the layout of the map, which will allow a sneaky player to flank with almost anyone.
