Xbox has an excellent reputation as a company, and are generally loved by their fans. It is quite normal to receive emails from the company offering various products, or reminders of events happening within the company. it would seem some people were not happy with Xbox’s latest round of emails. A simple email celebrating the impending release of Dead Rising 4 as well as wishing Xbox users a Happy Holiday season. What about that could be deemed as racist though? Lets take a look.
Seems straightforward enough, a couple of Christmas themed zombies right? No racism here, but lets take a closer look.
If you take a close look at the subject line, you will see a grouping of letters meant to be the sound of a zombie roaring. The unfortunate arrangement of letters is loosely similar to a derogatory term for African Americans. This has caused a bit of stir among the community, leading to several people complaining to the company. Because of this, Xbox spokesman Major Nelson to extend an apology via Twitter.
