Halo has been a staple of the FPS genre for 15 years, helping to bring multiplayer shooters to the console market in 2001. In that time, the companies behind it have varied a bit, with Bungie handing over the reins to 343 Industries (aptly named after the eccentric monitor of Installation 04, 343 Guilty Spark). Two years later in 2009. Josh Holmes joined the company. He joined because he was long time fan of the Halo series, and couldn’t wait to leave his mark on the Sci-Fi universe. Eventually working his way up, Holmes became the creative director for Halo 4 and eventually made his way to studio head for Halo 5: Guardians.
But all things end, and Josh Holmes has announced that he plans on leaving 343 to pursue his dream of becoming and indie game developer with his friends. It is unknown what kind of games he plans to create, or if he will ever return to 343 industries. But it’s safe to say that a man for a man with Holme’s talents, something amazing is in store for gamers.
We have reached out to Holme’s on Twitter to find out what he has in mind for the future, but have not received a comment yet. What kind of game would you like to see from him in the future gamers?
